Pulitzer Prize winning author and Baltimore-based historian Taylor Branch has endorsed Carl Stokes for City Council President. Branch is best known for his trilogy of books chronicling the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. and much of the history of the American Civil Rights Movement.
“Carl Stokes offers Baltimore voters a rare opportunity. He’s a change agent with the experience to know exactly how and where city government needs fundamental reform. As Council President, he will push for audits to trace how our money is spent. He will spread economic development into neighborhoods that need it most. He will demand racial justice to build one Baltimore in safety. I have known him for more than 30 years. I ask you to please consider giving hm your vote.”
